Today I'll be ranking the seasons of spongebob, I will not be including season 10 as it is ongoing. I will be going from worst season to best season in my opinion, so without a further ado let's begin this list.

Season 7

Season 7 in my opinion is the worst spongebob season, because of the quality of the episodes. And the laziness with the humor and writing, even the best episode from the season called krusty dogs is still mediocre because of the episode relying on dirty humor and the repetitive nature of the jokes. The worst episode of spongebob according to many fans is a pal for gary, and that episode premiered that season. So did one Course meal, one of the worst episodes of spongebob in my opinion. So yes, that's why all the points I've listed earns season 7 this spot on this countdown.

Season 6

This season was the starting point of the downfall of spongebob, the season included mostly mediocre episodes. It holds the most disgusting episode of spongebob with the splinter coming from this season, only one memorable episode came from this season that episode being sandcastles in the sand. All the other episodes are either forgettable, or memorable for the wrong reasons. Like the episode the card that came from season 6 is remembered for one thing, and that is being the starting point of the question is Patrick a psychopath or is he faking his stupidity. So yeah, all of these points are what gives season 6 this spot on this countdown.

Season 8

Season 8 is the season where improvement began to show in spongebob, with there being a better good episode to bad episode ratio. This season gave us memorable episodes like Patrick man and the invasion of the jelly spotters, and while there are bad episodes. The good ones are able to outshine them, so that's why it gets this spot on this countdown.

Season 9

This was the season where spongebob's improvements shined through completely, it took us out of the Era of modern spongebob and set us on a new course. The episodes of this season were relatively okay, there were a couple of bad ones like squid Baby. But those aren't enough to outshine the good episodes in the season, there are a couple of problems with the season. Like some of the jokes didn't work, and the characters hadn't completely changed back to their original counterparts.

But those flaws are minor compared to the improvements like better jokes,writing and the characters were starting to resemble their original counterparts, and that's why it earns this spot on this countdown.

Season 5

Season 5 was the last good season before the Era of modern spongebob began, and while I won't say all the episodes were good. Because the season had the episode fungus among us and a couple others, the seasons good episodes like spy buddies,roller cowards and friend or foe all came out that season as well. And that makes up for the bad ones, the problems with the season was a couple of jokes were stale and the writing could get lazy at some points. But the good things like fast paced humor and being able to get some gross out humor right more than makes up for the bad ones, and that's why this season earns this spot on this countdown.

Season 4

Season 4 was coming off the heels of the spongebob SquarePants movie, and well it shows. While there are good episodes like fear of a krabby patty and Patrick smartpants, there were some bad ones like to love a krabby patty and good neighbors. The problems with the season lies in it's writing and animation, as some moments in the season the animation quality was very lazy. But the good things were the season humor and originality in episodes, so that's why it earns the spot on this countdown.

Season 1

I know this entry is going to piss off some people, but season 1 is the worst of the original 3 seasons. The good episodes like help wanted and pizza delivery are good, but the writing in the rest of the season was lackluster. And the animation was just horrible, the colors were bleak and not appealing to the eyes. This season was the first, and the show was still trying to find it's niche market to appeal too. Overall the season is okay with some good episodes and bad episodes, and that's why it earns this spot on this countdown.

Season 2

This season was good, with great episodes like something smells and the fry cook games. The writing had gotten better and the season had more clever jokes and premises for episodes, the animation had gotten more colorful and vibrant and had a lot better movement. Overall this season was great with good writing and humor, and that's why it earns this spot on this countdown.

Season 3 is the best season of spongebob because it has some of the best episodes of the season, like squilliam returns and the algae always greener. The shows writing,humor and animation was at its peak, and the problems with the season are almost non existent with the problems only being I wish the season would've kept going longer. And if the only complaint is asking for more, that must mean this must've been a really amazing season. And that's why this season earns this spot on the countdown, as the best season of spongebob.
