This stator/ IPG assembly was removed from a bike that had a no spark problem. Swapped it out with a known good stator/IPG and spark was back. Assumed it was a bad assembly, but maybe it could have been a bad wire that was tweaked while installing the known good stator?? Who knows..
What I would like to know is how can you test the full stator assembly when it is off the bike? I have the service manual and have tested the 3 main yellow wires coming from the stator. All have continuity with each other and are well within the service limits. Also, none have continuity with ground (stator body).
I can't find anything else in the manual that has to do with testing the stator or IPG. Does anyone electrically savvy have any ideas on how to test the Ignition Pulse Generator (pick up)? Or any other tests that can help me determine if this is indeed a bad stator/IGP assembly?
I removed all wire sheathing and inspected all wires for cuts or breaks and all wires are intact.
Thanks for any replies.

2006 Rubicon, battery continues to go dead. Replaced battery and regulator / rectifier.
I'm trying to test the stator, I have the 5 pin plug near the rewind apart. I'm wondering if I should have the battery disconnected when checking continuity between the yellow stator wires and ground.
Also, how many AC volts should each leg (yellow wire) produce at idle and at high (5000) rpm?
When last I checked it made just over 20V on two legs and 15V on the third at high rpm. I know it should produce about 360W but I can't test that I don't think.
Any help appreciated.
